This remarkable personal collection has been curated by Steve McGilchrist, Production Co-ordinator for Lin Bloomfield's definitive book, The Complete Etchings of Norman Lindsay.
Personal appointments to view any of the works in this collection may be made by contacting the Gallery.
NOTES ON THIS EXHIBITION: Norman Lindsay created 200 published and 175 unpublished etchings in his lifetime.
"Original etchings" are those etched by Norman and printed by Rose Lindsay, usually in the year of the etching. "Facsimile etchings" are those reproduced at a later date from an original etching. Four plates (images) are selected for each print run.
These facsimile etchings are reproduced in strictly limited editions of 550 to simulate the original print runs by Norman and Rose of 55.
Since the first facsimile run in 1974, only 87 plates have been produced. This deliberate decision clearly enhances the exclusive nature of both the originals and the facsimiles.
The book by Lin Bloomfield, The Complete Etchings of Norman Lindsay, which is the definitive volume on Lindsay's etchings, may be inspected and purchased at the Gallery.
