Peter Thompson's enigmatic oil and enamel paintings exude a haunting charm. His tragi-comic subjects are layered in a painterly style and made complete by their textural effect.

Recurring motifs like small flowers, dead end road signs and flocked wallpaper are used for both composition and narrative.

Tug boats thrusting through weed entangled seas are powerful images developing since his return to Adelaide.

The end result is a body of work that, once seen, will not easily be forgotten.
