In 2005 she travelled to India as a recipient of the Sanskriti Kendra Residency (SA). She was recently a lecturer at The National Art School and The College of Fine Arts in Sydney where she completed her Masters if Fine Art (2007). Chelsea is represented by Arthouse Gallery in Sydney.

Explanation of Painting Vigil at Nabokov’s Garden:
Vigil at Nabokov’s garden explores the natural dualities within female sexuality; both the sensuality and vulnerability experienced in relation to ones own sexuality and its contact with another’s. The overlaying of multiple elements in this painting suggests that ‘reality’ is not one thing, but a combination of remembered, existing and subconscious experience. This ‘mixing of realities’ and resulting ambiguity intensifies through the different approaches to paint application, both realistic and painterly.
