Rebecca is new to the Adelaide art scene however her interest and participation in visual arts began at an early age with her attendance at Ruth Tuck art school. Painting with water colours was her specialisation until she began a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Tafe Adelaide Centre for the Arts and discovered a new love of drawing utilizing a mixture of dry and wet mediums.
Currently Rebecca’s work focuses heavily on working with a layering technique, aiming to create interest, movement and a strong graphic quality within her drawings.
For this series Rebecca explores the female form utilizing the layering technique and playing with shape, geometry, line and texture. This process allows for unexpected images to emerge creating dream like sequences and delving in to the realm of the unknown much like that of our own subconscious.
