On "The Heysen Trail":
The Heysen is more than a walking trail of spectacular scenery. Many gustatory events are celebrated along its length, from local farmers markets to the renowned Tastes of the Outback, Barossa Vintage, Sea to Vines and Almond blossom Festivals. So whether you need an excuse to stop hiking or fuel to keep going, take time to sample the fabulous local produce.
Seasons:
A season can be a fertile time, we season to add flavour and we become seasoned through our experiences.
This series evolved around these themes. As the seasons turn we see the promise of harvest inherent in Spring’s bursting buds fulfilled by Summer’s exuberant abundance and the changing traceries of Autumn, hung with Summer’s last gift, give way to the quiet intimacy of Winter. I hope you enjoy this celebration of moments marking the seasons.

Artist’s Statement
I recently returned to Adelaide after 16 years in the corporate world with the intention to spend more time on my art. So I renovated my unit, redesigned my garden, started work as a carer for preschoolers and finally turned to the paintbrushes.
Developed as a fund-raiser for the Independent Art Foundation in 2004, the ‘Passionate Fruit’ series was inspired by memories of holidays, and the joy of discovering new explosions of tropical tastes.
‘Familial Fruits’ was created as homage to our grandmother’s gardens, to fruits not often found in supermarkets. A reminder of when we stepped from sizzling summer into dappled shade and, on tiptoe, plucked fruit warm from the sun. That first luscious bite with juice dripping down your chin, the memory of which can make your mouth water even now. The changing light on these sumptuous shapes and delicious colours is a celebration of the simple joys of life.
